Fortunately its summer in the desert so I havent slipped anywhere yet.Product: Sketchers Junior Reni Jogging Bottoms Outsole is already showing a decrease in its studs (for lack of better word) and im just approaching ~60 miles. Next run I will pay attention and also remove the insert to see if it is an issue. I am not sure if it is the insole maybe rising with my foot and back down and the pop is the small air bubble OR if its the carbon plate inside. My only issue is that there is an audible pop sound I noticed on a few runs. Ive done slow runs and fast runs and hill runs. FOR ME, it fits the bill of comfort and stability. It is comfortable and painless and havent had any issues except for maybe some blisters which I never had from previous shoes but thats another issue. I figured, maybe the Razor Excess 2 could help with relieving some pressure by adding a little more rigidity and it appears to do so. I have an arthritic issue on my right toe where i cannot bear any weight on my R toe w/o pain and need something rigid yet flexible and accommodating. After getting orthotics and having to need something that would accommodate my custom rx insoles, I decided to try these shoes since they had the carbon H-plate, and it appeared to have more of the plate around the toe area. I enjoyed the shoe a lot and it fit perfect for my style of training and running. I went through 2 pairs of Infinity React 2s to train slowly after an injury and build up mileage. I bought these Sketchers because I didn't want to take another run in other shoe. I have a pair of expensive "serious brand" shoes that only has 100 miles on them. If you're put off by your bias that Sketchers isn't a serious brand, get over it. I rotate with a pair of Hoka trail shoes for other workouts and dirt/trail. I use these shoes for mid-mileage runs, speed work, easy days, or most anything that has me on pavement or the track. And, this is picky, but I use the runner's lock when I lace my shoes, and Sketchers provides the eye hole for this, but doesn't give you enough lace to make it happen! So, I robbed an off-color lace from an old pair of Hokas just to lock my foot into these bad boys. Positives: Decent cushion (hyperburst is wonderful). Something about the rocker aggravated my achilles though (old college running injuries that still nag if I'm not careful), so I thought I'd try the Razor Excess 2. Soft but springy! Even at 400 miles, the shoes still felt good. I put 400 miles on a pair of Sketcher Max Road 5's (my first pair of Sketchers) and really, really, really liked the hyperburst foam.
